Eleven vehicles recovered as police crackdown on a car theft syndicate in Kisumu

In one of the major breakthroughs in the crackdown on crack theft syndicate in Kisumu and western Kenya, police have arrested two suspects and recovered several vehicles.

In a raid by police acting in an intelligence report raided two homesteads within Khayeko junction  and Aliwa village which are  2kms and  4 kms  away from Migosi police station respectively.

During the joint crackdown conducted by both OCS Migosi and Kassagam, two suspects were arrested and 11 vehicles recovered.

According to the police the main suspect is on the run and the police following vial  clues to arrest him.

in a communique from the police read in parts “subject= crackdown on suspected motor vehicle theft syndicate =
references are made vide Migosi police station OB numbers 26/06/10/2025 of 18.51 HRS and 02/07/10/2025 at 0110hrs on above captioned subject. please be informed that police officers under Migosi police station whilst accompanied by a team from Kassagam police station led by both OCS Migosi and OCS Kassagam acting on an actionable intelligence led operation, raided two homesteads within
1 Khayeko junction m/r xq734544 about 2kms south of the station and
2 Aliwa village m/r xq918624 about 4kms north of the station respectively.
in the ensuing scenario, the police teams were able to recover the following motor vehicles which had no valid ownership documents and suspected to be stolen:-

2.KDJ631G grey Toyota Fielder
3.KCY973B white Toyota Axio
4.KDC692P grey Toyota Axio
5.KDG157H grey Toyota Axio
6.KDB485H white Toyota Fielder
7.KDH427F grey Toyota Axio
8.KCQ238G white Toyota Axio
9.KCM385N white Toyota Axio
10.KCH950M white Toyota Fielder
11.KCE831E grey Toyota Fielder
a detailed search carried out at the Aliwa house of one Michael Eric Mwaga and the following exhibits recovered:-
1.one piece Toyota make car radio
2.one piece Pioneer car radio
3.one piece Sony car radio
4.one piece rear car plate reg. no. KDC629P (cut into 4 pieces)
5.a set of car plates reg.no.KDG157H.
this is the same plate number recovered fitted in a car s/no.5 recovered at Khayeko junction homestead
6.assorted vehicle parts.
a total of two(2) suspects namely were apprehended as follows :-
1.Michael Eric Mwaga l/m/a aged 32yrs id.no.31412808
2.Peter Andei l/m/a aged 37yrs id.no.25349806
all booked for the offence of being in possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles.
the main suspect namely Evans Otieno Meda still at large and relentless efforts being done to apprehend him.
all exhibits photographed, inventory filled and signed by the suspects.
a detailed ownership particulars of the suspected vehicles detained at Migosi police station yard yet to be determined by NTSA.
